Mission Possible!
God wants you to have both a ministry in your service to believers and a mission in your service to unbelievers. Fulfilling your mission in the world is God's fifth purpose for us!
Our mission is to continue Jesus' mission - introducing people to God! Jesus calls us not only to come to Him, but to go for Him. "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20a This is known as the Great Commission, not the Great Suggestion. To ignore it would be disobedience.
This week's lessons look at 1) the Importance of your Mission (Day 36) and 2) Sharing your Life Message (Day 37). You may feel like you don't have anything to share with unbelievers - but that doubt is from the Enemy who will do whatever he can to keep you silent. You may be the only Christian a person will ever know! Can you really stay silent?
Your mission is POSSIBLE - if you choose to accept it! Download the lesson handout and audio link here to learn with that mission looks like.

After this lesson my hands and arm pits are sweating!
ReplyDeleteI really feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.
When you said that we spend a life time building a legacy that will outlast us really made me shudder. God has put two people in my life a mother/daughter that I know need Christ in their life. Please pray for me as I fully embark on this journey that God has set before me. Oh my...."We will have all of eternity to celebrate with those we have brought to Jesus, but we only have our lifetime in which to reach them." This is a very powerful statement.
Thank you Tonia for this online study!
A great point in this lesson is we are witnesses. We don't have to be perfect or have all the answers...because ultimately our job is just to direct others to Jesus Christ who does have all the answers for them. We only need to share what God has done in our lives. I love to do this in teaching. I try not to bombard anyone with my testimony. It is actually a long one with a lot of complicated information! But I do have a lot of interesting stories and God's been a huge part of them. People love stories and anyone who watches a great movie or reads the best selling novels knows a good story hooks you. A good story reels you in and you want to know more. You want to follow. Tell your story. Let others tell you theirs and give God the glory!
ReplyDeleteThanks Patti and Nancy for sharing. You are an encouragement to me and others!!
