What Drives Your Life?

Everyone is driven by something! Drive is defined as to guide, control or direct. What drives your life? Guilt? Resentment? Fear? Materialism? Approval? Why are we so often driven and guided by these things instead of God's purpose for our lives?

Nothing matters more than knowing God's purposes for your life, and nothing can compensate for not knowing them - not success, wealth, fame or pleasure. Without a purpose, life is motion without meaning, activity without direction and events without reason. Without a purpose, life is trivial, petty and pointless. (The Purpose Driven Life, page 34.)

Today's lesson looks at the 5 most common things that drive people and the 5 benefits of being driven by God's purposes....don't miss out on knowing what is guiding, controling and directing your life.

  1. I have no idea what family or any friends would say is the thing that drives me. What I would hope is that people would say serving God drives me more than any materialism, and that I thought of others above myself.

  3. I think that is a very interesting question....what would my family & friends say would be the driving force in my life? I think I will ask them.
I would want their answer to be that the love of God is the driving force in my life. My prayer is that my life radiates His love and His peace and His compassion.

  4. It's definately an interesting question to consider..one we don't often stop and think about...but one worth examining. What others "see" in us may be totally opposite of what we think we're displaying!
